April 25th, 2012

My work was exhibited from April 14th-25th for my Senior Project in Visual Communications. The graduating class of 2012 was the first student show to exhibit in the brand new Art Gallery at Stockton College so it was a great privilage to take part in. I showcased work from my book, Left Brain / Right Brain, parts of which are viewable in my online portfolio. Special thanks to my professors at Stockton and everyone that came out and showed their support!

A Little More About Me...

Growing up I always loved art and had an interest in calligraphy. I took my first Graphic Design class in high school and was instantly hooked. In college I expanded my versatility by taking classes not only in design but also photography and web based multimedia.

One of my biggest quirks is my love of typography and my ability to point out typefaces on store fronts, TV commercials, you name it. My friends have accepted of the fact that I will start ranting about an Italian restaurant we just drove past who unwittingly chose Papyrus for their logo text. If I were to win any significant amount of money, I would spend more than a reasonable amount on fonts. Seriously.

I drink coffee and design, and that pretty much sums up about three quarters of my waking hours. When I'm not on the computer I am usually baking, reading, or listening to music. My Yorkie, Toby is my design assistant and constant companion.

Web Design has been a hobby of mine stretching back to when I was about fourteen years old. I was all about the internet but I wanted a more personalized experience, so taught myself basic HTML and CSS. I started off making Geocities pages for my favorite bands (they were pretty horrible), and then I moved on to customizing Xanga and Myspace layouts (slightly less horrible). When I got to college I knew it was a knowledge worth pursuing so I didn't have to make stuff up as I went along. Nowadays I make small websites and customize Tumblr layouts for my blogs.
My technical skills include:
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • jQuery
  • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Flash
  • Blog & Social Media
